What is a partnership?
A partnership represents a form of cooperation between a public authority and the private sector, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to implement a project that generates positive effects both in the labor market and in local development.
Partnerships with the private sector primarily impact beneficiaries, as it is recognized that social services require long-term provision. The issues faced by beneficiaries are often complex and require ongoing support over several years.
An NGO typically has limited funding sources over time, and a partnership with a public entity contributes to the sustainability of programs—either through public co-financing or by enhancing the NGO’s credibility when it receives external support from another foundation or a group of donors.
